East Brunswick police charge man for allegedly stealing from house

EAST BRUNSWICK–A 22-year-old resident of East Brunswick was charged with burglary after reportedly stealing items from a residence on McDowell Drive.

On Oct. 25, East Brunswick police officers were advised that the home is equipped with a home surveillance camera inside the residence, which recorded a male suspect entering the home through a partially opened sliding glass door, according to police.

The suspect was reportedly observed walking around the living room and kitchen areas, rummaging through drawers. While watching the surveillance footage, Detective Dennis Chieffo was able to identify the suspect on the video from previous encounters, police said.

The man was charged with one count of burglary and remanded to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending court, according to police.
