The charity recently held its inaugural 5K run/1 mile fun walk at the Sayreville Sports Complex, which drew 60 runners and 43 walkers – as well as nine “alumni” who were adopted from Sammy’s Hope.

Sammy’s Hope has more than 120 volunteers from nearby communities. The next orientation session for new volunteers will be at 7 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the center, 1400 Main St. (GPS address 989 Main St.), Sayreville.
