Front page newspaper photo shows government waste

One look at the front page photo on the Dec. 5 News Transcript shows governmental waste at its worst. I count 16 people at a press conference scheduled by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. There may be more, but that many government employees made the photo.

Is there any plausible explanation for the presence of all 16 employees? These people are all paid with tax dollars and some likely arrived at the press conference in county and state owned vehicles (also known as taxpayer owned vehicles).

Couldn’t many of them have been doing something productive rather than “being seen” at this high-interest briefing? Do taxpayers really have to pay for photo ops?
