‘Think Space, Not Studio’ at Sacred Simplicity Yoga Learning Center

Sacred Simplicity Yoga Learning Center, owned by Lisa Horan-Sockol, has opened at Monmouth Therapy Associates, 1 Executive Dr., Tinton Falls.

The motto of Sacred Simplicity Yoga is “Live Your Life On And Off The Mat.”

With a maximum of eight students in each class, Sacred Simplicity offers a mix of classes including Beginner Yoga, Yoga For Anxiety & Stress Management (six-week series), Yoga For Special Needs Children, Chair Yoga, Therapeutic Stretch, Children’s Yoga (ages 5-8), Community Healing Hatha Flow, Sunday Stretch & Flow, and Deep Relaxation With Guided Imagery.

Deep relaxation is offered on a private basis as a 30-minute session.

In 2013, Horan-Sockol, of Holmdel, received her 200-hour yoga teaching certificate through Yoga Works with Laurel Beversdorf and Laurel Yoga in New York City. She is certified in Restorative Yoga; Mindful Yoga for Anxiety; Yoga for Special Needs (children & adults); Yoga Therapeutics Level 1 with Jillian Pransky; and Restorative Yoga Using Minimal Props & Cueing Students Into Stillness.

Horan-Sockol continued her education with several teachers including Jason Ray Brown at Zinyasa Yoga & Wellness Studio in New York City, focusing on musculoskeletal anatomy and the prevention of injury; Dr. Jeff Migdow at the Princeton Center for Yoga & Health, concentrating on releasing tension and anxiety and accessing deep relaxation through Prada Yoga; and the Kripalu Center For Yoga & Health in Lennox, Massachusetts.

Horan-Sockol earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rosemont College and a M.Ed. in Counseling from Kean State College in New Hampshire. She is also certified in K-12 guidance counseling.
