An East Windsor Township man, who gave police a false name during an investigation into sharing child pornography on the Internet, now faces multiple charges in connection with the investigation, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

Maruthavanan Seeni Nadar, 33, was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography and with obstructing the administration of law for initially identifying himself as Madham Kaliamma, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said.

The investigation began after Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives Charles Antinoro and Ryan Minnick received a cyber tip from the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit regarding the uploading of child pornography to the Internet by an East Windsor Township resident.

Detectives Antinoro and Minnick, who are assigned to the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, launched an investigation and determined that the man they were seeking was Nadar, the Mercer County Protector’s Office said.

When Detectives Antinoro and Minnick went to Nadar’s home in East Windsor Township, he gave them a false name. The detectives continued to investigate and discovered Nadar’s real name.

Nadar was arrested and has been released on home detention. He has also been barred from using the Internet and electronic devices.

Attempting to crack down on similar crimes against children, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri has urged anyone with information about the online distribution of child pornography to contact the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tip line at 1-888-648-6–7.

Anyone who suspects improper contact by persons communicating with children online or possible exploitation or sexual abuse of children also is urged to call the New Jersey Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force tip line.
