The scouts who will advance to rank of Eagle are Victor Thomas Cappuzzo, 18, Andrew James Iannaccone, 17, Timothy Foo Siam, 18, Robert Van Erem, 18, and William Wang Zhao, 18, according to the press release.

The troop’s adult leaders provided the following summaries of the community projects that were completed by Victor, Andrew, Timothy, Robert and William:

Victor raised funds, planned and managed the construction of two durable, all-weather picnic tables at Abate Park in Millstone Township. The tables seat six people each and are accessible to individuals who have a handicap and to individuals who are using a stroller. The tables benefit the community by providing a place to sit and enjoy one of Millstone’s public parks. Victor is a senior at the Peddie School, Hightstown.

Timothy organized and landscaped the front and side yards of the historic Thomas Baird Homestead in Millstone Township. The landscaping entailed a cleanup and the creation of new flower beds and the planting of flowering plants. The landscaping provides a pleasing aesthetic to an historical structure for visitors to enjoy. Timothy is a senior at the Academy of Allied Health and Science, Neptune.

Andrew planned, organized, led and managed three activities to help volunteers at Hope for Animals provide food and shelter for the cats they look after. Eight wooden outdoor cat shelters were constructed and donated to Hope for Animals to provide year-round protection from the elements and predators for the feral cat colonies.

To help provide food for the cats, Andrew organized a canned cat food drive at his high school, his town and through his Boy Scout troop collected more than 500 cans of donated cat food. A cat tree was constructed from the branches of a tree to provide a sturdy, natural activity area for the cats in the Hope for Animals adoption room when the cats are not in their cages. Andrew is a senior at Allentown High School.

Robert managed the design, build and installation of a sign at the Brandywine soccer complex in Millstone Township. With the assistance of a local craftsmen and graphic artist, Robert created a 4-foot by 6-foot sign which contains a field location map on one side. The sign was designed using local team colors and the map was created to help visiting teams locate the area where they need to go when entering the complex. Robert is a senior at Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville.

William planned and oversaw construction of a paver patio at the historic Thomas Baird Homestead in Millstone Township. The patio is 16 feet wide and 5 feet long and was built directly in front of the shed’s entrance. The patio assists with the movement of heavy machinery in and out of the shed and adds to the overall aesthetic of the community building. William is a senior at High Technology High School, Lincroft.
