The Hillsborough Democratic Alliance will serve as a host to a live presentation and discussion event with Democratic Assemblymen Roy Freiman and Andrew Zwicker.

On April 3, the evening event will take place at Avalon Assisted Living from 7-8:30 p.m., which is located on 393 Amwell Rd, according to Hillsborough Democratic Alliance officials.

“We want to give the legislators an opportunity to talk about a range of topics. I did say to them, look given that Earth Day is coming up could part of their presentations be environmental and climate change oriented,” said Steve Pick, President of the Hillsborough Democratic Alliance.

After both Freiman (D-Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset) and Zwicker (D-Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset) speak on a range of topics, there will be a question and answer session for residents who attend.

Pick said he does not want the presentations or questions to be focused on just one topic.

According to the Hillsborough Democratic Alliance, the range of topics that will be discussed include the latest Assembly bills, changes to medical marijuana, public education and environmental issues.

Pick said the room where the presentations and discussion take place can seat a lot of people comfortably.

“The room we are in has the capacity for about 80 people to attend,” he said.

He said another presentation forum will occur in the fall.

“That event will be more about campaign focused topics, as things get hotter in the election scenario. Right now this April 3 forum is not going to be a totally campaign focused discussion as it would be in the fall,” Pick said.

People who are planning to attend are asked to reserve seats by calling 908-505-5150 or visiting the Hillsborough Democratic Alliance Facebook page and clicking on the event that they are ‘Going’.
