Alexander Street bridge emergency closing

The Alexander Street bridge that crosses Stony Brook will be closed immediately while emergency repairs are being made to it, Mercer County officials announced on April 8.

The bridge will be closed around the clock for the next 10 days, Mercer County officials said. Pedestrians may use the bridge, but cars, trucks and buses are banned from using it until the emergency repairs are completed.

Work is expected to begin April 9 and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within 10 working days, weather permitting. Detours will be put in place while the work is under way.

From U.S. Route 1, motorists may use Quaker Road and Province Line Road to reach Princeton, or they may use Washington Road to reach Princeton.
