All of Us is a medical research initiative of the NIH called Precision Medicine that will revolutionize the prevention, cure and treatment of disease. All of Us is looking to capture the health data of millions of people to learn how individual differences in lifestyle, environments and biology shape one’s health, according to a prepared statement.

The exhibit will be located in a 40-foot trailer that will be parked in the Senior Center’s parking lot in the rear of the library building.

The trailer features hands-on activities for visitors to learn about medical research, precision medicine, and the opportunity to enroll in the All of Us program. The highlight is a virtual reality experience that teaches people the impact of medical discoveries on our world. There will also be an exploration station, quizzes, videos and more, according to the statement.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students in middle school through adults to experience firsthand the future of Precision Medicine,” Karen Parry, the library’s manager of Information Services, said in a prepared statement. “I encourage anyone with a passion for STEM [science, technology, engineering, math] to come out and celebrate the exciting future of medical research with knowledge, free food and music, courtesy of the NIH.”

There will be arts and crafts activities for children that focus on a healthy lifestyle while their older siblings and parents experience the trailer exhibit.

This program is offered through the library’s “Just For The Health Of It” consumer health and wellness information initiative and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
