Cheers to The Walking Dead

for bringing a big chill to the undead life. AMC’s zombie drama (with Danai Gurira and Norman Reedus, pictured) pulled a cool move with its snowy season finale that gave walkers a new way to hide and ended with a cliffhanger about possible new survivors.

Cheers to The Rookie

for throwing together two top-tier charmers. As if Nathan Fillion’s 40-year-old LAPD newbie wasn’t roguish enough, the ABC cop dramedy wisely recruited master snarker Joel McHale to guest star as a dirty border patrol agent. If loving the chemistry between this odd couple is a crime, lock us up.

Jeers to This Is Us
for ruining Randall (Sterling K. Brown). Between the endless city council run, his demand that Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson, with Brown) be a stay-at-home mom and now that nasty voicemail about her dance career, the Pearson we most wanted to weep with has become a bigger mess than Kevin’s ’90s goatee. It’s a good thing he did right by her in the season finale!

Jeers to Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

for the teen witch’s supernaturally crappy intuition. It took Sabrina (the fabulous Kiernan Shipka) two seasons to realize she was being demonically manipulated by Wardwell (Michelle Gomez), the creepiest teacher since Glee’s Mr. Schu? And here we thought a talking cat was dumb.
