The HBO Films presentation Deadwood will debut Friday, May 31, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. In this original movie based on David Milch’s acclaimed, Emmy®-winning HBO series of the same name, which debuted 15 years ago, the indelible characters of the show are reunited after a decade to celebrate South Dakota’s statehood. Former rivalries are reignited, alliances are tested and old wounds reopened as all are left to navigate the inevitable changes that modernity and time have wrought. Returning cast members include: Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, Paula Malcomson, John Hawkes , Anna Gunn, Dayton Callie, Brad Dourif, Robin Weigert, William Sanderson, Kim Dickens, Gerald McRaney, Sean Bridgers, W. Earl Brown and Keone Young, among others. The film will also feature new cast member Jade Pettyjohn. During its three-season, 36-episode run on HBO from 2004 to 2006, the Deadwood series was nominated for 28 Primetime Emmy® Awards, winning eight, including Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Walter Hill). The series also received a Golden Globe Award for Best Performer by an Actor in a Television Series — Drama (Ian McShane).
ABC will premiere JBFA: Stories from the 2019 James Beard Awards on Sunday, May 19, at 4 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m. PT. The prestigious James Beard Awards gala event is highlighted during this hour-long special. Audiences will experience the drama, excitement and celebration of the 2019 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards Gala, hosted by Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson. The show includes highlights of awards throughout the evening, including Regional Best Chef winners, America’s Classics Honorees, Leadership Award Honorees, Lifetime Achievement Honoree Patrick O’Connell, Humanitarian of the Year Honoree, The Giving Kitchen, and culminates with the award for Outstanding Chef.
HGTV star Christina Anstead starts a new life and design business when HGTV premieres Christina on the Coast Thursday, May 23, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. With a booming design business, a new husband, a blended family with four kids and a baby boy on the way, this new series highlights Christina as she gives clients luxe spaces filled with distinctive design elements and cool SoCal style. The series also features Christina and Ant Anstead’s search to find a perfect home for their growing family. “You may know me from flipping houses,” said Christina. “But there’s a lot more sides to me than that.”
