It’s official now.

Red Bank Catholic High School’s Tara Zeni can jump farther than any other girls’ track and field athlete in New Jersey.

On June 8 at Northern Burlington County Regional High School in Columbus, Zeni turned that statement into a fact.

In the NJSIAA Meet of Champions, the senior placed first in the girls’ long jump event with a distance of 19-2.00. Zeni had to beat 28 other competitors to win the state title.

Now she will try to prove that she is one of the best long jumpers in the country, too. The senior will jump in the New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet on June 14 in Greensboro, N.C.
