The Old Bridge Police Department will participate in Operation Take Back New Jersey from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the municipal complex lobby, 1 Old Bridge Plaza, Old Bridge.

The Old Bridge Department of Parks and Recreation will hold its annual haunted house from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 23-25 and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Richard Allen Cooper Civic Center, 1 Old Bridge Plaza. This event will feature dark mazes, spooky décor, costumed township employees and plenty of scares. It is suggested for ages 10 and up.

The annual Halloween Spooktakular will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the same location. The family-friendly event will include arts and crafts, games, hay rides, music and pumpkin painting. Costumes are encouraged.

The Columbian Club of Old Bridge will hold a tricky tray event on Oct. 25 at its hall, 61 Pine St., Old Bridge.
Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council 4815.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Calling begins at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $15 and includes one sheet of regular tickets, coffee, tea and one dessert. Food and beverages available for purchase. Outside food permitted but no alcohol.
Adults only.
Proceeds benefit autism research.

MAVIS (The Music Association for the Visually Impaired Students of New Jersey) will hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 3-6 p.m. on Oct. 27 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 775 Washington Road, Parlin section of Sayreville.
Donation is $10 per person; or $8 for persons with visual impairments, seniors, and children under 12.

MAVIS subsidizes some of the costs for youth and adults with visual impairments to receive music lessons and instruments.
“Off the Pedestal: Four Jewish Boys Who Fought for the Confederacy” and “Noah – Is It Literally True?” will be discussed by Rabbi Eric Wisnia, Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Beth Chaim, Princeton Junction, when he appears as Scholar in Residence at Congregation Beth Ohr in Old Bridge on Nov. 1 and 2.

 

The 7:30 p.m. service on Nov. 1, at which Wisnia will speak, will be preceded by a 6 p.m. dinner, the cost of which is $25 per person.

The service on Nov. 2 begins at 9:30 a.m.; Wisnia will present his talk at the Kiddush luncheon following the service. The luncheon is $10 per person.

The Sayreville Recreation Department is offering a trip to see “Disney on Ice – Road Trip Adventures” on Nov. 9 at The Prudential Center in Newark. The show starts at 7 p.m.

The bus will leave at 5 p.m. sharp from the Mickey Sedlak Recreation Center, 167 Main St., Sayreville.

Tickets are $55 per person and are on a first-come first-served basis. Price includes bus transportation and ticket to the show.

Sammy’s Hope Animal Welfare & Adoption Center in Sayreville will hold its second annual Happy Tails Fun Run and Walk on Oct. 26 at the Capik Nature Preserve off of Bordentown Ave (Route 615), between Browns and Cheesequake Road, Sayreville.

The cost is $30 per person, and a team of five is $25 per runner. The one mile scenic
walk is $10 per person and only $5 per person for anyone under 12.

The event is for humans only.

All participants will receive an event t-shirt.

There will be more than 75 vendors selling crafts and merchandise.

There will be wheels of chance including baked goods, gift cards and toys as prizes.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle, tricky tray, children’s games and pictures with Santa.

The Middlesex County 4-H Haunted House and Hayrides will be held every Friday and Saturday in October from 7-10:30 p.m. at the 4-H Center, 645 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

The cost is $5 for one activity or $8 for a combination ticket. Proceeds benefit 4-H community service projects.

Holocaust survivor Lois Flamholz will describe her fight for survival at Congregation Beth Ohr’s Kristallnacht program at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 during the Sabbath evening service.

The Madison-Old Bridge Township Historical Society will hold its 54th annual Apple Festival from noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Old Bridge Township Civic Center, Route 516 and Cottrell Road, Old Bridge.
