SOUTH RIVER–The Borough Council accepted a bid from AEP Onsite Partners LLC for the borough’s Battery Storage Project.

Borough Administrator Arthur Londensky said, “The winning bidder will design and construct a battery storage facility and interconnect the borough’s electric system to reduce the transmission and capacity costs to the borough. The battery will be used during peak times and recharged during off-peak times.”

One bid was received on Sept. 26, with AEP Onsite Partners LLC designated as the apparent low bidder regarding the mega reduction percentage, shared saving percentage and monthly fee to dispatch the battery, according to the council agenda.

The council approved the resolution accepting the bid on Oct. 21.

Londensky said the next step is to obtain any necessary permits and schedule a project meeting with the vendor.
