Monroe mayor wins second term

MONROE – Democrat Mayor Gerald W. Tamburro was elected to his second term in Monroe.

Tamburro received 7,382 votes/52 percent in his bid for the four-year term on Nov. 5.

He faced Republican challenger Charles DiPierro, who currently serves as the Ward 3 councilman. DiPierro received 6,721 votes/48 percent.

Election results are according to the Middlesex County Board of Elections and are unofficial until certified.
