As part of Monmouth County Park System, the Timberbrook Triathlon was held at the Manasquan Reservoir, Howell, on Oct. 5. The 1,200-acre reservoir is the setting for the annual event.

For the second year in a row, Frank Kus, 57, of Jackson, Linda Lensch, 61, of Tinton Falls, and Brian Eberhart, 62, of Jackson, won the Team Canoe Mixed Category with a time of 59:02.80. Their time this year was seven minutes faster than in 2018.

The first leg of the triathlon, the 3-mile course, was run by Kus. For the second leg of the triathlon, Lensch paddled 2 miles on the reservoir in an outrigger canoe. The last leg of the triathlon, one time around the 5-mile reservoir, was completed by Eberhart.
