The St. James Knights of Columbus in Monroe held a holiday party for 80 residents from four local rest homes in the Monroe/Jamesburg area, including Jamesburg Manor, Meadowview Care, Gibbons Rest Home and Roclene Manor, on Dec. 15. The Knights supplied a full turkey dinner, festive music and photos with Santa. In addition, the Knights assembled gift bags for all those attending which contained various items donated from the St. James the Less Church’s Religious Education Program, as well as Spinbrush Globrushes and boxes of toothpaste donated by Church & Dwight. Surplus gift bags and donations were subsequently distributed to the rest homes for some of the residents who were unable to attend. The Township of Monroe provided transportation for the residents via two school buses.
