According to officials, the child attends Amsterdam Elementary School. The student attended school last on March 13.

Officials added that upon conducting the investigation, the student had no known high risk exposure to COVID-19. Therefore, they expect that there is community spread at this time.

Officials are asking that residents continue to practice social distancing.

The township Health Department continues to monitor all cases and is working with the state to identify any potential contacts for follow-up.

A representative from the Health Department will reach out to all individuals determined to have been in close contact with the positive testing persons within 24-48 hours of each case being confirmed, according to officials.
