OLD BRIDGE – All township parking lots, grounds, facilities, trails, fields, courts, dog parks and playgrounds will close in continued efforts to flatten the curve of the coronavirus.
In concurrence with Gov. Phil Murphy’s executive order to close all state and county parks and forests effective sunrise on April 8 until further notice, the Old Bridge Office of Emergency Management announced the inclusion of municipal parks out of an abundance of caution to limit the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.
Old Bridge is home to Cheesequake State Park and has a number of county parks/preserves including Old Bridge Waterfront Park; John A. Phillips Park and Preserve; and Deep Run Preserve.
The township has 15 parks, open space areas including Pension Road Park; Veteran’s Park; South Old Bridge; Fox Street Field Complex; Municipal Complex; Higgins Road Park; Ticetown Road Park; Central Park; Pauls Beach; Raritan Bayfront Park; Seidler’s Beach; Cliffwood Beach; Geick Park; Rose Farm Recreation; and Laurence Harbor.
The township will continue to assess the situation and when officials are able to resume recreational programming, announcements will be sent out via email to all participants in any Recreation Department sponsored programs and to all sport organization presidents to disseminate as well.
All township buildings are closed to the public; however at this time offices remain open. For additional questions call 732-721-5600 ext. 4999, or email email@example.com.
