Howell, Jackson residents to seek school board seats

When residents go to the polls on Election Day, Nov. 3, they will elect members of local school boards.

In Farmingdale, no resident filed a nominating petition to run for one three-year term on the Farmingdale Board of Education. The term could be won by a write-in candidate on Nov. 3.

In Howell, four residents – Albert Miller, Ira Thor, Denise M. Lowe and Stephen Dobbins – are running for three three-year terms on the Howell K-8 School District Board of Education. Miller, Thor and Lowe are current board members.

Laurence Gurman is running unopposed for a two-year unexpired term on the board. Gurman is a current member of the board.

In Jackson, three residents – Tara Rivera, Scott Sargent and Anthony Mero – are running for two three-year terms on the Jackson School District Board of Education. Rivera and Sargent are current board members.

Tzvi Herman is running unopposed for a one-year unexpired term on the board.
