OLD BRIDGE – The township is one of five coronavirus hotspots in Middlesex County, said Old Bridge Mayor Henry in his coronavirus update on Nov. 10.

“We are working closely with [state and county officials] to address these concerns,” he said.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases have surpassed 1,700 since the township started reporting case numbers in March, Henry said.

“Since October the number of newly reported cases have increased and all age and gender groups are impacted,” he said. “In addition, we have lost 87 of our residents to the virus. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.”

Henry urged residents to continue taking precautions to help prevent and slow down the spread of the virus by wearing a mask, social distancing, washing hands frequently and avoiding large groups.

“I believe that together we will get through this,” he said. “Please stay safe, healthy and be well.”
