Dr. Susan McManus and Dr. Lisa Hopkins have joined to provide comprehensive breast surgical care.

The group will initially serve more than 14,000 new patients annually but expects to expand rapidly over the next 12 months.

Although Astera Cancer Care is a new cancer care organization, its physicians have cared for thousands of cancer patients in Central New Jersey since 1981. Astera Cancer Care physicians average more than 20 years of medical experience and have deep connections to their surrounding communities. Astera providers currently practice at 14 distinct locations in Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer, and Monmouth counties in New Jersey as well as in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Astera Cancer Care offers standard and advanced therapeutics, including chemotherapy, biologic therapy, immunotherapy and radiopharmaceuticals along with a complete portfolio of radiation oncology treatment options, including proton therapy, prostate brachytherapy, and radiosurgery.

Astera Cancer Care has one of the only community-based clinical trial programs in CAR-T cell therapies in the nation. The practice will participate in OneR, a collaborative clinical trial group under OneOncology, a network of oncology practices throughout the United States. Additionally, the group’s relationships through the OneOncology network will allow Astera physicians to provide access to all technologies needed to provide personalized cancer care for all patients.
