Primary election results: Hopewell Valley committee and council seats

There were uncontested primary elections for seats on the Hopewell Township Committee, Pennington Council and Hopewell Borough Council in Hopewell Valley during the June 8 primary.

The general election take place on Nov. 2.

The primary results listed reflect what has been posted online by the Mercer County Clerk’s Office as of June 9.

The results of the primary election will remain unofficial until they are certified.

Hopewell Township Committee, one seat available:

In the Democratic primary, incumbent Democrat and current Mayor Julie Blake received 510 votes in uncontested contest for the nomination.

There was one write-in vote cast.

In the Republican primary, Edward Jackowski received 414 votes to earn the nomination.

There were zero write-in votes cast in the Republican primary.

Pennington Council, two seats available:

Democratic candidate Nadine Stern received 125 votes in an uncontested Democratic primary.

There were 18 write-in votes cast in the primary.

For the Republican ticket there were no official candidates on the ballot. However, there was one write-in vote cast in the in the Republican primary.

Hopewell Borough Council, two seats available:

In the Democratic primary, incumbent Democratic Councilwoman Samara McAuliffe received 138 votes to earn a place on the ballot in November.

Incumbent Democratic Councilwoman Debra Stuhler secured 132 votes to also earn a spot on the November ballot.

There were zero write-in votes cast.

In the Republican primary, there were no official candidates on the ballot and zero write-in votes were cast during the primary.
