100-lap Modified ‘Summer Thunder’ race set for Wall Stadium on July 10

WALL TOWNSHIP – A 100-lap championship race paying $5,000 to the winner for the Modified stock cars will be presented on July 10 at Wall Stadium Speedway, Route 34, Wall Township.

In addition to the “Summer Thunder” event, all Wall Stadium Speedway Modified drivers are expected to sign autographs in a special meet and greet/autograph session during intermission.

Factory Stocks, Legend Cars and the Fast 4 Stocks are all slated for 25-lap races, according to a press release.

Officials have announced that grandstand seating will open at 4 p.m. and the evening’s qualifying will begin at 5 p.m. Once qualifying for the Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Legend Cars and Fast 4 Stocks has been completed, main event action will begin at 7 p.m.

The 100-lap format is attracting the attention of several racers in the Modified division.

Former track champions Andrew Krause of Holmdel and Steven Reed of Jackson are expected to be on hand for the big event, as are Tommy Martino Jr. of Farmingdale, Brick Township’s Dom Fattaruso, Mayetta’s Tyler Truex and Jackson’s Jason Treat.

Joey Merlino of Pine Hill, Manasquan’s Kenny Van Wickle and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River can also be expected to be among the drivers in competition.
