A John Street resident told police that someone opened bank accounts under her name without her permission. The incident was reported Aug. 10.

A 2021 BMW X7 sport utility vehicle, valued at $90,000, was reported stolen from a Lafayette Road West home between 11:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and 2:40 a.m. Aug. 8.

A shoplifter reportedly took an assortment of merchandise, valued at $140, from a Nassau Street store Aug. 6. The woman selected several items and went into a changing room, where she put the items in her backpack and left the store, according to police reports.

Someone fished three business checks out of a U.S. Postal Service mailbox and altered them, resulting in a loss of $8,831, according to police reports. The victim reported the theft and forgery incident on Aug. 6.

A Spruce Circle resident reported on July 30 that someone had transferred $2,000 from her checking account into a Capital One account, allegedly. One of the victim’s checks also had been cashed for $2,995, but she had not written the check, according to reports.

A Princeton Avenue resident told police that a thief fished a check for $10,000 out of a U.S. Postal Service mailbox, altered it and cashed it. The theft and forgery incident was reported July 30, according to reports.

The rear window of a car was smashed while it was parked in a public parking lot on North Harrison Street July 29.

Four checks that had been put in a U.S. Postal Service mailbox on Palmer Square West were allegedly stolen, but none had been altered or cashed. The victim reported the incident July 28.

Someone fraudulently applied for unemployment benefits through a Maidenhead Road resident’s employer, according to allegations. The incident was reported July 28.

A Ewing Street resident reported that someone used their personal information to open a credit card account at Kay Jewelers in Livingston and bought two necklaces, valued at $5,459.18, according to police reports. The incident was reported July 28.

A Nassau Street resident told police that he received a letter from a bank that contained a credit card that he did not open, according to reports. The card was opened by someone using the victim’s personal information. The incident was reported July 28.

An unlocked bicycle was reportedly stolen from a bicycle rack outside a Stanworth Lane resident’s home overnight between July 25 and 26.
