Ewing man arrested on credit card theft

A 34-year-old Ewing Township man was charged with credit card theft after he allegedly used a fraudulent credit card to buy gasoline for two vehicles at a Hopewell Township gasoline station, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

Police were called to the Lukoil gas station on Pennington Road Aug. 19 for a fraudulent credit card complaint. The complainant told police that a man had used a fraudulent credit card to buy gasoline for two vehicles, and had just returned to the gas station.

The man was parked in a Jeep Cherokee away from the gas pumps, according to reports.

During the course of the investigation, the officer discovered that the man was wanted on outstanding warrants and was also allegedly in possession of stolen credit cards, police said.

The man was arrested on the outstanding warrants, and he was also charged with credit card theft. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
