A charge of lewdness was lodged against a 55-year-old Millstone Township man after a police officer stopped to investigate a car that was parked at the Etra Lake boat ramp at 11:57 p.m. Dec. 1. As the officer approached the car, he observed the man allegedly committing a lewd act. Police said the man showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. In addition to lewdness, the man was also charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to submit to a breath test. He was released, pending court action.

A 50-year-old East Windsor Township man was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking items valued at $118 from ShopRite, Route 130, at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 25. A police officer observed the man running away from store’s loss prevention personnel in the parking lot, but the man stopped running at the officer’s command. The man was released, pending court action.

A 32-year-old Hightstown man who was stopped by police for making an improper lane change without using a turn signal in the area of Route 33 and Lake Drive at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 27 was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, being an unlicensed driver, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, making an improper turn and failure to use a turn signal. He was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The man was released, pending court action.

A 50-year-old East Windsor Township man was charged with driving under the influence after he was stopped by police for failing to stay in his lane of travel in the area of Twin Rivers Drive and Overton Road at 12:10 a.m. Nov. 29. The man showed signs of impairment and was charged with driving under the influence after failing field sobriety tests. He was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, being an unlicensed driver, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane. The man was released, pending court action.

A 44-year-old Trenton man who did not stay in his lane of travel was charged with driving under the influence following a motor vehicle stop on Route 130 near Hankins Road at 8 p.m. Nov. 30. The man showed signs of impairment and was charged with driving under the influence after failing field sobriety tests. He was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, being an unlicensed driver, driving while his license was suspended, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane. The man was released, pending court action.
