Lawrence Community Day aims to introduce residents and visitors “all that the township has to offer” from businesses to community groups.
The celebration will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 2 at Central Park off Eggerts Crossing Road.
More than 80 vendors have signed up for Community Day.
There will be entertainment for children, including a zipline, face painting, wagon rides, touch-a-truck, inflatables such as a bounce house, and an animal show by the Lizard Guy, officials said. The Beagles will provide music.
Nonprofit groups, such as the Lawrence Township chapter of the League of Women Voters, the Lawrence Township Education Foundation, the Lawrence Historical Society and Lawrenceville Main Street, will set up booths during the event.
The Lawrence Township Junior Baseball/Softball Association, the Lawrence Lacrosse Club and the Lawrence Junior Cardinals Football and Cheer groups expect to set up shop.
Womanspace Inc., which helps victims of domestic and sexual violence, will have a booth.
The Lawrence High School Students Helping Honduras club, which raises money to build schools in Honduras, plans to have an informational booth.
Mercer’s Best Toastmasters Club, which is a public speaking and leadership development organization, and the WorkWell Partnership, which provides job training for ex-offenders, will set up informational booths.
Usborne Books and More, which is a children’s book publisher, and Boo Bear Books, which also offers children’s books, each signed up for a booth.
Lawrence Neighbors Together, which is a coalition of Lawrence organizations and individuals who are committed to mutual respect, compassion and justice, will have a booth.
The Lawrence Pride Alliance, which promotes and fosters LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer) inclusivity, visibility and advocacy, has signed up for a booth.
Arts and crafts vendors, such as Need and Thread Design, Made with Love By MAV, and AmiKat, plan to have booths.
Businesses ranging from Oracle Hearing Center to Kayla’s Pretty Paws pet grooming and All American Gutter Protection have signed up for a booth.
And if all of that interaction and walking around makes visitors hungry, food trucks and vendors – from Thai food to vegan offerings, pizza and hot dogs – will be on hand.
