Edison Recreation Department hosts job fairs for child care programs Aug. 2, 13

The Edison Recreation Department will host job fairs in August for enthusiastic and responsible high school-age students willing to supervise youngsters who attend child care programs before and after their regular school day.

Job fairs will be held from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Stelton Community Center, 328 Plainfield Ave., and from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Minnie Veal Community Center, 1070 Grove Ave.

Applicants, 16 or older, are needed to supervise a variety of activities for younger students in grades K-8, including student and homework time, arts and crafts and recreational activities.

The township and public schools jointly provide after/before school care program for students in grades K-5 at each of the public elementary schools. They also operate a young adolescent program for grades 6-8 from 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday in each middle school during the school year.
