The third and final suspect being sought following a string of burglaries that occurred in Hopewell Township in July has been arrested, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

Anthony Kennedy, 30, of Florence, was taken into custody Aug. 3 by the Pennsylvania State Police on outstanding warrants from Hopewell Township and Burlington County, police said. He is being held in the Berks County, Pa., jail, awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

Kennedy, along with Santiago Ramos, 28, of Camden, and Denise Dubois, 40, of Mt. Ephraim, faces charges of burglary and theft in connection with burglaries that occurred on New Road, Poor Farm Road, Valley Road, Maddock Road and Dublin Road in Hopewell Township between July 4 and July 16, police said.

Ramos and Dubois were apprehended in July and police had been searching for Kennedy.

In two of the incidents, on Dublin Road and New Road, homeowners confronted the would-be burglars before they could break into the houses, police said. In other incidents, the burglars forced their way into homes.

The Hopewell Township Police Department was assisted in the investigation by neighboring agencies, including the Lawrence Township, Montgomery Township, West Amwell Township and Florence Township police departments.

The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Upper Makefield, Pa., Police Department also assisted in the investigation.
