Pedestrian in stable condition after being struck on Route 18

EAST BRUNSWICK–East Brunswick Police patrol units responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at 9 p.m. on Sept.6 on Route 18 north near Racetrack Road.

Upon arrival of the police, it was determined that the pedestrian was alert and conscious, but in need of medical attention. The pedestrian was transported to Robert Wood Johnson for further evaluation, according to police.

As a result of the accident, Route 18 northbound was closed at Racetrack Road for approximately four hours. The accident is currently under investigation by the East Brunswick Police Department Special Operations Division, according to police.

Public Information Officer Lt. Sean Goggins reported that the victim is in stable condition.
