Pennsylvania man charged with multiple offenses

A 38-year-old Pennsylvania man has been charged with multiple weapons offenses and drug offenses following a motor vehicle stop on Route 31, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

The incident began when a police officer stopped a motorist on Route 31 at 9:38 a.m. on Sept. 15. During the investigation, the officer asked the driver to step out of the car, and that’s when the officer discovered that he had a knife.

Further investigation revealed that the man had a gun, hollow point bullets and an expandable baton in his possession, along with a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The man was charged with multiple counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and multiple counts of unlawful possession of a weapon for having the gun, knife and expandable baton in his possession, police said.

He was also charged with possession of prohibited weapons and devices for having hollow point bullets in his possession, police said.

Finally, he was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance for having less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center in Hopewell Township.
