PRINCETON: Historical Society executive director Erin Dougherty to become Flagler Museum director

The executive director of the Historical Society of Princeton will leave at the end of January to become the director of the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida, according to an announcement Monday from society President Scott Sipprelle.
Erin Dougherty has been at HSP for nine years, and she will play a role in “transition planning,” the announcement said.
“This move represents a huge professional and personal opportunity for Erin,” Mr. Sipprelle said in his statement, issued to society members and to the community at large. “And we are extremely proud of her selection to lead this esteemed cultural organization. We also take pride in knowing that our own great story here at HSP played an important role in her recruitment.”
Ms. Dougherty previously held positions positions at The Morris Museum, Jersey City Museum, New Jersey Historical Society, Staten Island Children’s Museum, and Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. She earned degrees from the University of Michigan and The College of William and Mary.

The Historical Society of Princeton owns the Updike Farmstead on Quaker Road and recently reclocated its headquarters there from Bainbridge House on Nassau Street.
The society offer programs and exhibitions throughout the year. 
