A Lambertville woman who may have fallen asleep at the wheel and hit two oncoming vehicles had to be extricated from her car at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, March 5.
Emergency responders from the Union Fire Company and Rescue Squad had to extricate a trapped Kelly Moraski, a 34-year-old female from Swan Street in Lambertville, from her Acura TLX after the crash on Route 29 near River Knoll Drive.
Hopewell Township Police said the Acura collided with an oncoming Jeep Wrangler and a Ford F250.
Ms. Moraski was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by the Union Rescue Squad and paramedics from Capital Health with several injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, according to police.
The Jeep Wrangler was driven by James Paolini, 47, from Bristol, Pennsylvania. Mr. Paolini was uninjured in the crash.
The Ford F250 was driven by John Lyons, 55, from Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Mr.
Lyons reported minor injuries on scene, but refused medical attention.
Police said their investigation revealed that Ms. Moraski was traveling north on Route 29 in her Acura when she crossed the centerline, sideswiping the Jeep coming at her.
The Acura continued into the southbound lane of the highway and hit the Ford pickup, which was also traveling south, nearly head on. Investigation revealed that Ms. Moraski may have fallen asleep while driving, police said. She was issued a summons for careless driving.
Route 29 was closed in both directions for about 90 minutes and traffic was detoured.
The crash is being investigated by Officer Robert Sparano.
