The budget for the upcoming school year will be supported by a tax levy of $72.9 million to be paid by Freehold Township’s residential and commercial property owners. The district’s state aid will increase by $75,000, from $4.59 million in 2019-20 to $4.66 million in 2020-21.

The school district’s 2019-20 budget totaled $81.8 million and was supported by a tax levy of $71.4 million.

Specific information about the tax impact of the 2020-21 budget on the township’s property owners is expected to be provided when the budget is considered for adoption.

“I am very proud we are able to balance the continuity of our high quality instructional programs with fiscal responsibility to our taxpayers,” Superintendent of Schools Neil Dickstein said after the budget was introduced.
