Church social to feature karaoke, ice cream

MATAWAN — First Presbyterian Church of Matawan will host its first annual Karaoke Night and Ice Cream Social from 7-10 p.m. June 3 at 883 Route 34, Matawan.

Attendees are invited to try their voices to their choice of karaoke songs while enjoying ice cream, coffee and other treats. The church’s rock bands and soloists will also step up for a few numbers. Singers can bring an accompanist to perform. A piano is available.

“This will be an informal, fun event for people who love to sing,” said Dr. E. Graham McKinley, First Presbyterian’s director of music. “Anyone and everyone is welcome!”

Participants should reserve a time slot by contacting McKinley at mckinley@rider.edu or during the event. McKinley can also accompany a limited number of singers if the music is provided ahead of time.
