Jewish women have played starring roles on the “silver screen” since the silent film era, according to a press release from the museum.

In Kenrick’s presentation, viewers will follow that rich heritage from Theda Bara to Barbra Streisand to Gal Gadot, with film clips and behind the scenes stories, according to the press release.

Kenrick has worked in the theater at every level from amateur to Broadway, eventually serving as personal assistant to Tony Award winning producers, including the team behind the original production of “Rent,” according to the press release.

He is the creator of the educational website Musicals101.com and his books include “Musical Theatre: A History,” which recently received a new 10th anniversary edition.

The Dec. 2 program is sponsored in part by Gary Matoren in memory of his mother, Mary Matoren, and in honor of the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County and the Jewish community in Monmouth County, according to the press release.
