In an effort to provide the highest caliber exmissions support for its graduates [when moving onto other schools], Princeton Montessori School (PMONTS) is partnering with educational consultant, Amanda Rose, to help PMONTS middle school students prepare for the independent high school admissions process.
According to PMONTS, Dr. Rose, who has a doctorate in psychology, is a highly sought after academic consultant in the Princeton area who also coaches students on college essays, SSAT/SAT/ACT preparation and interviewing and job search strategies.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Rose take on this expanded role as Secondary Placement Coordinator for our school,” Head of School Michelle Morrison said. “Over the years we’ve worked with her, she’s proven to be a gifted, professional, and effective guide for our students and families. We know that with her leadership in this role, we’ll provide exceptional service and support to our graduates in their high school application process and SSAT testing.”
In her work, Dr. Rose counsels families through a personalized decision-making process to ensure that each student is applying to the appropriate schools. Dr. Rose’s work at PMONTS involves helping students with logistics and supporting families as they research high schools, including attending open houses and information-gathering panels.
According to PMONTS, she explains the pieces of the application process (SSAT scores, transcripts, letters of recommendation, interviews, etc.) and guides parents on how they can best help their children prepare for the SSAT.
“It’s important for families to do their own research about different high schools,” Dr. Rose said. “Parents should identify the school whose culture and program will enable the student to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.”
Dr. Rose encourages parents of PMONTS students to trust that their children will be more than ready to meet the challenges of high school.

Dr. Rose is an organizational, educational and leadership consultant and executive coach. Her clients have included Princeton University, Merrill Lynch, The Provident Bank, Merck & Company, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, Princeton Day School, Christiana Care Health System, The Wharton School, American Management Association, and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
She earned a doctorate in Organizational Psychology from Rutgers University, an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a B.A. in English from Cornell University.
