He reportedly became upset after he was told that he could not take a break outside of his scheduled break time, police said. He threatened to physically attack other employees and then left the store with his possessions, according to the allegations.

He returned a short time later with a cannister of pepper spray in his hand and walked behind a cash register. He sprayed the cashier with pepper spray, but the employee was able to block some of it with his arm, according to police.

Then the man sprayed the store manager in the face with pepper spray while she was on the phone with police. He ran out of the store before police arrived to investigate the incident.

The man turned himself in to West Windsor Township police on March 29 and was released, pending a future court date in Mercer County Superior Court.
