A Philadelphia man who allegedly met with a woman for illicit purposes in a transaction that went awry has been charged with making a false police report, according to the West Windsor Police Department.

The man called the police and reported that he had been robbed in the parking lot of the hotel by a woman who threatened to stab him with a knife, according to reports.

During the investigation, police learned that he had lied about what took place in the March 21 incident. It was discovered that he had made plans to meet with the woman for an illicit purpose, police said.

He reportedly gave the woman $60, but she got out of his car before any transaction was completed.

The man allegedly threatened her, via Snapchat, that he would call the police if she did not return his money and that the police would believe him because he was a volunteer firefighter, police said.

He then called the police to report that he had been robbed by someone who had a knife.

The man has a future date in Mercer County Superior Court.
