On a recent Saturday, a surprise visitor arrived at Point Breeze, the preserved Bordentown estate that once served as the home of her famous European family, the Bonapartes.
Princess Caroline Murat descends from the sister of Joseph Napoleon Bonaparte, who lived at Point Breeze. They were both siblings of Napoleon I, emperor of France.
Upon walking the grounds and hearing about D&R Greenway’s plans for a museum in the Gardener’s House, Murat promised to share something special from the family archives for the museum, scheduled to open in November.
The princess is an acclaimed concert pianist who performs under her mother’s maiden name, Haffner.
