I am writing to endorse Krista Weaver for Hopewell Borough Council. As the current council member who is leaving the seat Krista is now running to fill, I can tell you she will help steer Hopewell into the future.
Krista is a leader in the face of one of the borough’s biggest challenges that is within council’s power to address: traffic safety. She was a critical force in driving a group of volunteers that advocated for pedestrian and cyclist safety improvements last year and is now the chair of a Hopewell Borough-sanctioned committee that is evaluating traffic safety in the borough and preparing recommendations to address problems it identifies.
Before I decided to step down from council, I worked closely with Krista and found her to be a thoughtful, inclusive and tireless leader. She worked hard to make sure that all members of the group were included and that their strengths were given a chance to shine.
Krista is a candidate with a proven track record of asking tough questions and challenging officials when necessary. Krista would be a free-thinking addition to council, and a breath of fresh air.
