June Dungee was sworn in on June 27. She is a member of the Middlesex County Federation of Democratic Women, a supporter of the Literacy Program for Middlesex County and a member of the Ward 3 County Committee.

“[June] was chosen from a list of three names that I submitted to the council,” said Mark Razzoli, chairman of the Old Bridge Township Democratic Party.

Butler, 75, passed away on June 7. Elected in 1989, he was the longest serving councilman, having served six consecutive terms.

A special election will be held in November to see who will serve the rest of Butler’s term, which ends in 2017, according to Razzoli.
