Hillsborough man fatally struck by vehicle driven by family member

A 41-year-old Hillsborough man was fatally struck by a vehicle driven by a family member, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and Hillsborough Township Chief of Police Mike McMahon.

Hillsborough police officers and Hillsborough Emergency Services were dispatched to a Clark Lane residence at approximately 2:28 a.m. Feb. 25 in response to a 911 call, according to police.

The man, who police are not identifying at this time, was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigation Unit and members of the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate along with detectives from the Hillsborough Township Police Department.

Investigators from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene.

The death remains under investigation by detectives pending an autopsy and toxicology report from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the results of the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team’s findings. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
