A malfunctioning hydraulic unit was the cause of smoke that was reported in the area of the loading dock at the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical facility on Grandview Road shortly after midnight May 3. Fire personnel ventilated the building to clear out the smoke.

A 61-year-old Hillsborough Township woman was issued a summons for careless driving after her 2021 Jeep Compass struck the rear of a 2012 Honda Accord driven by a 23-year-old Skillman man at The Great Road and Bedens Brook Road April 26.

A 47-year-old Skillman woman was issued a summons for careless driving after her 2013 Audi Q5 left the road on The Great Road near Country Club Drive and struck a guardrail April 26. She was not injured.

Fire damaged the roof and solar panels on a Mayacoo Lakes Court home April 24. The house was unoccupied and there were no reported injuries. Officials do not know how the fire started, but they traced its origin to the solar panels.

A 46-year-old Skillman woman suffered minor injuries of cuts and scrapes after she climbed out of her 2020 Land Rover SUV that had drifted off the roadway, entered a ditch and flipped onto its side on Hollow Road April 18. She was taken to Pen Medicine Princeton Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

A 41-year-old Somerville man was charged with drug offenses, including possession of drug paraphernalia, after police responded to a call for an unwanted person at a Belle Mead home April 14. He was allegedly in possession of suspected cocaine and suspected heroin. He was processed and released.
