Primary election: Candidates run for Hillsborough Township Committee

Voters nominated candidates for an array of elected offices in the Democratic and Republican party primaries June 6.

The results of the 2023 primary election are unofficial as of June 7 and will remain unofficial until they have been certified. That process could take one week or longer.

The unofficial results reflect what was posted by the Somerset County Clerk’s Office.

Democrats – Hillsborough Township Committee – Vote for 2

Ronald Yoder received 1,407 votes and Samantha Hand received 360 votes. There were 17 write-in votes.

The Democratic candidates ran unopposed for their party’s nomination to run for Hillsborough Township Committee.

Republicans – Hillsborough Township Committee – Vote for 2

Incumbent James “Jim” Ruh received 924 votes. Catherine Payne received 918 votes. There were 23 write-in votes.

The Republican candidates ran unopposed for their party’s nomination to run for Hillsborough Township Committee.

The Democratic and Republican candidates will vie for the two open Township Committee seats in the general election Nov. 7.
