Route 516 traffic being detoured

OLD BRIDGE – Route 516 westbound traffic is currently not able to proceed to Route 18 North at the Route 516/Route 18 bridge.

Westbound traffic is being detoured to Marlboro Road via Marsad Drive, according to information provided by the Old Bridge Police Department.

Traffic on Englishtown Road is not able to take the bridge exit for Route 18 north.

There is some traffic congestion on Englishtown Road eastbound.

Also, the right lane is closed from Southwood Drive to the Route 516 bridge to allow a merge from Marlboro Road to Route 18 north, according to police.

Police also announced that from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, the ramp from Route 516 west to Route 18 north will be closed for paving operations. The closure will be at Route 516 west and Marsad Drive. Traffic will be detoured to Route 18 north via Marsad Drive.

Additionally, the ramp from Route 18 south to Route 527 south will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Then, between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, the ramp from Route 18 south to Route 516 east will again be closed for paving. The detour to Route 516 east will be via Leon Avenue.

Detour signs will be posted.
