Saints to be focus of Lenten series

The churches of South Amboy and Sayreville will join together to present a five-week Lenten program titled “Hazardous Saints” 7-8 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 18-March 25. Each session will focus on a person who risked his or her life for faith. Refreshments will be served after each presentation.

The schedule is as follows:

Feb. 18 – “Barnabas and Thomas Cranmer,” Christ Church, 220 Main St., South Amboy;

Feb. 25 – “Francis of Assisi,” First Presbyterian of South Amboy, 150 Broadway;

March 3 – “Sojourner Truth,” Messiah Lutheran Church, 3091 Bordentown Ave., Parlin section of Sayreville;

March 10 – “Dorothy Day,” Trinity United Methodist Church, 815 Bordentown Ave., Sayreville;

March 17 – “Oscar Romero,” First Presbyterian Church of Sayreville, 172 Main St.;

March 25 – Community service, Trinity United Methodist Church, 815 Bordentown Ave., Sayreville.
