Firefighters tend to detached garage on fire

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Firefighters responded to a garage fire on Monday morning.

The Monmouth Junction Fire Department was dispatched to 866 Georges Road at 7:11 a.m. on March 28 for a garage fire. Police and firefighters arrived to find the two-bay detached garage fully involved, according to a statement prepared by South Brunswick Police Captain James Ryan. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage with no damage to the single-family residence that was less than 30 feet away, he said.

In addition to the Monmouth Junction Fire Department, the Kendall Park, Kingston and North Brunswick fire companies responded. South Brunswick EMS was on location and there were no injuries.

The fire is under investigation by the South Brunswick Township Fire Safety Bureau.
