Joan H. Lewis,81 Joan H. Lewis at age 81 went to her eternal home on Sunday, February 28th, 2016, in the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Joan was born on February 26th, 1935, to Dewey and Betty Haldeman of Bensalem, PA. At age 11, Joan moved to Hopewell, where she resided for the remainder of her life. Joan graduated from Central High (now Hopewell Valley High School), class of 1953. In 1957, Joan received her Registered Nursing license from McKinley School of Nursing (now Capitol Health Systems in Trenton). She spent 40 years working in the newborn nursery at Helene Fuld Hospital. During this time, she met the late Warren C. Lewis and they were married in 1957. They shared 58 years of marriage and have four children. Joan is survived by their four children and their families, Linda Stephan and her husband, John, of Pennington; Warren Jr. “Butch” and his wife, HyeSuk, of Jacksonville, NC; John and his wife, Yolly, of Victorville, CA; and Elizabeth “Beth” Dendis and her husband, Brian, of Flemington, NJ. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with two on the way. Joan was predeceased by her sister, Margaret “Peggy” Haldeman. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ray Woodfield; her sister-in-law, Alma Lewis of Ewing; and her twin sister-in-laws Virginia “Gippy” Lewis of Hopewell; and Arlette and her husband, Raymond VanArsdale of Calabash, NC. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Joan was an active member for 67 years with the Hopewell Presbyterian Church and served as Elder, Deacon, Hopewell Presbyterian Women, Mary Martha Circle and the New Brunswick Presbytery. Calling hours are Thursday, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home (located at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home), 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington, NJ. Funeral services (with no viewing hours) will take place at 10:00a.m. on Friday, March 4th at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 80 West Broad Street, Hopewell, N.J. Interment will follow in Highland cemetery.
